Morehead Meals

At Morehead Meals we offer a weekly menu of freshly cooked meals, as well as catering for events.

  • Our food is affordable, ethical, healthy and is part of a multi-leveled social enterprise.
  • All profits from Morehead Meals go back into preparing meals to feed people facing homelessness at Althea’s Community Hub.
  • By purchasing meals from us you are directly contributing to a healthier, resilient and more connected community as we connect with Townsville’s most vulnerable people.

Weekly Meals

Each week our chef prepares freshly cooked meals in our commercial kitchen. These meals are then frozen in single serve containers for your convenience.

Weekly Menu

The menu changes weekly and it lists all of the ingredients in case of allergies. Every week the new menu is posted on Morehead Meals facebook page. We can also email you the new menu each week or you can pickup a printed menu when collecting your meals.

An example of a weekly menu is:

  • Corned Beef, Roast Vegetables and White Sauce
  • Chicken and Mushroom Casserole with Rice
  • Beef Lasagna
  • Creamy Bacon Fettuccine
  • Roasted Pumpkin and Fetta Frittata
  • Vanilla and Peach Cake

Prices

  • If you hold a concession card, meals are $8 each, or 5 for $35.
  • If you don’t have a concession card then meals are $9 each, or 5 for $40.

You can collect your meals at the end of each week from:

Aitkenvale Office

  • Unit 1, 5 – 11 Fleming Street, Aitkenvale, Qld 4814
  • Thursday 2.45pm – 5pm
    Friday 9am – 5pm

Althea Community Hub

  • 46-48 Morehead Street, South Townsville
  • Thursday 1pm – 3:30pm
    Friday 9am – 3pm

Delivery

Meals can also be delivered at an additional cost to most areas.

How to Order Weekly Meals

To order weekly meals:

  1. Contact us on 0419 624 267 or click Morehead Meals Menu/Order Form.
  2. Orders need to be placed by 2pm each Tuesday
  3. Collect from Althea’s Community Hub, our Aitkenvale Office or have them delivered for an extra cost.

Catering Service

Do you need catering for your next event?

Let us take the stress out of organising catering for your function. You will find delicious finger food items and we also cater for dietary requirements. Enquire today for your next event.

Event Catering

Morehead Meals offers a catering service from Monday to Thursday between 9am and 4pm for your meeting or event.

We charge $14.50 per head and you can choose 3 selections off the menu. You can choose from the following selections:

  • Frittata
  • Savoury Muffin
  • Rolls (assorted)
  • Pasta Salad
  • Fruit
  • Quiche and Salad
  • Ham and Cheese Croissant
  • Sandwiches (assorted)
  • Homemade Sausage Rolls
  • Wraps (assorted)
  • Garden Salad
  • Cheese and Dip with Crackers
  • Coleslaw
  • Sliced Cake
  • Monday to Thursday 9am – 4pm
  • $14.50 per head

Grazing Platters

We also have grazing platters which include a large range of meat, cheese, dips, breads, fruit and biscuits. You definitely won’t be disappointed, they are delicious!

Grazing platters range from:

  • Mini ($20)
  • Small ($50)
  • Large ($75)

In addition to grazing platters you can also order the following platters. Prices start from $55.

How to Order Catering

Orders for catering need to be placed at least 1 week prior to your event. Please call Morehead Meals or email for a Catering Order Form and to discuss your order.
