Althea Projects – Supporting Townsville for 50 Years!
Emerging in a time of need post-Cyclone Althea in 1971, Althea Projects Incorporated (formerly Wee Care Family Incorporated), a not-for-profit organisation proudly marks its 50th year of unwavering commitment and dedication to supporting and strengthening families, children and individuals in our local community.
‘As we celebrate this remarkable milestone in 2024, we reflect on the countless lives touched and transformed by Althea Projects and the dedication and support we have received over time from our staff, board and many local businesses and organisations. I particularly reflect on the tenacious volunteers who worked tirelessly to establish Wee Care. I hope they know they created a one-of-a-kind service in Queensland, making such a positive difference in the lives of our local families’ and children – Paula La Rosa CEO of Althea Projects.
As we commemorate this milestone in 2024, we extend our deepest appreciation to all our supporters and contributors. This year will be marked by exciting events that celebrate our journey and the impact we’ve collectively made in the community.
